Freedom Footbags was created in 2002 by 4-time Doubles World Champion, Daryl “Genzu Blades” Genz.  Over the years Daryl has spent countless hours at the sewing machine making tens of thousands of Mr. Sandbags, the original Freedom Footbags’ product.  Daryl has since passed this task on, employing local people to sew for Freedom.

When Daryl’s wife Sunny began to run the business in 2008, she expanded their inventory to carry many footbags made by footbag players **some of the top freestyle players and stitchers on the planet** who know what it takes to make top quality, shredable footbags.  Freedom takes pride in the fact that they do not outsource labor to companies overseas, but instead supports the players themselves.  Freedom Footbags proudly sponsors footbag tournaments across the country and around the world.

Sunny continues to compete in footbag tournaments and is one of the top female players in the United States.  Daryl is often found at the judges table at top freestyle events.  It is said that at Freedom, “We know footbag!”
