Dragonstein Rake
So, I took a peek in the modified video forum just now, and noticed that Jim had posted a new video (22MB quicktime file) that he made just yesterday; as usual, Jim throws down.
At one point in the session, he hits “Dracula”, which Jon Schneider describes as follows. Jon essentially “invented” dragon-based (cross-body outside) footbag moves, and so his opinion on the mechanics/naming of these moves carries a little more weight than most
And he’s a funny writer.
Thats Dracula, a Dragonstein Rake. Double swirling cross-body outside rake. Or, double-swirling cross-body rake on the outside (instead of the toe). At least, thats how I classify those types of moves.
excerpt from the wikipedia entry on the “Order of the Dragon”
In 1431, Sigismund chose to expand the ranks of the Order. To achieve this, he invited a number of politically influential and militarily useful vassals and nobles for induction into the Order. Among those inducted was Vlad II, Voivod of Wallachia, who guarded the passes from Transylvania to Wallachia. This membership resulted in Vlad being called Dracul (”The Dragon”) and his son being called Draculea (”Son of the Dragon”) or Dracula.
wikipedia(Double cool that he was wearing a t-shirt of my design as well.) (Anyone else notice that super-cool t-shirt? Wink )
