Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is most famous for these four words, “I have a dream”. Unfortunately, as a nation and a world we are still a long ways from realizing this his dream. And no, his dream wasn’t to have a federal holiday in his name.

His dream was vast but among other things included seeing all people treated as equals, and that we look beyond our differences to embrace what we have in common. I really love how footbag helps to build the gap between cultures. I’ve made countless friends around the world thanks to this sport. The other beauty of the footbag community is that it is in general extremely open and accepting of all people. It’s just really cool to be able to step in any circle anywhere and have the only common “enemy” be, well, gravity. Let’s hope we can realize MLK’s dream before we annihilate each other and our planet.
