Shipping through Hong Kong is usually pretty painless. It's a port city and a huge gateway for shipping goods into Free Trade Zones (FTZs) in mainlaind China. All kinds of goods move there in huge volume like butter all year round. There shouldn't have been a problem.

The Olympics are in Beijing which is almost 2000 miles north of Hong Kong. Sounds like they pulled a fast one on you!
