Osis: Fundemantal Trick Component (With Video)
To this day I still struggle with Osis. That being said, I’m not going to blabber on and on like I tend to in some of my other posts. There are some people for which Osis seems to come naturally; Greg Nelson, Jim Penske, and Allan Haggett immediately come to my mind when considering this move. They seem to be able to whip this out like it’s nothing. Once you’ve mastered the Clipper Stall, this may be something you want to try out. It’s a critical fundamental component of many other advanced tricks, particularly moves like Torque (a Miraging Osis) and Blender (a Whirling Osis)… So without further ado, let’s see how Jim busts this one out:

You can find a list of beginner hacky sack moves with video links in our Fundamentals Flyer (the glossy photo paper version comes free with any footbag purchase) – the FFFFFF can be purchased separately as well.
On a quick interesting side note, it was Kenny Shults (the Father of Footbag Freestyle) that coined this move name. He was also an avid Freestyle Frisbee Player and the trick Osis in disc is very similar to Osis in footbag (that is, once you substitute the hands for the feet). Note that Frisbee is to flying disc as Hacky Sack is to Footbag.
