“Professional Shred Gear Enclosed”
That’s what was written on the box that Daryl sent me
A few days ago I wrote a post about how my old shoes were toast (I updated the post with my repair job
) I said that I had ordered my new footbag shoes (Quantum02s) that day, the 18th of March. Daryl lives in Idaho, and I’m on Vancouver Island (Canada), but my package arrived this morning! That’s a single week to ship to Canada
Stoked. Border issues have been a hassle in the past, but this shipment sailed right through.
Included with my shoes was a spring care kit of sorts: a FootFighter bag, some Steri-strip footbag repair tape, a few Mr. Sandbag footbags, and my Quantums were already outfitted with new spenco insoles
I’m totally ready to shred now that “the season” for us in the Northern Hemisphere has come into play. I’m hoping to post some video soon, but in the meantime, here’s a pic I snapped of my kit on my iPhone (insert geeky laugh here) before I left the house:

Thanks Daryl!

Erik Chan has been posting videos on YouTube under a new handle (nonHackrifice) recently. He’s been publishing a cool selection of videos, one of which (in two parts) is the video I made almost 7 years ago now after the Colorado Shred Symposium #2. He had to bust into two parts as I “spaced out” a few times in the production (I was new to video editing) and included some long juggling shots. There are some good historical shots in there, however, including Lon Smith’s epic 45 second shred. Erik writes in the video description:
A documentary by Allan Haggett of the Colorado Shred Symposium 2. I had to split this file into two parts for YouTube, since the original is, like, 19 minutes long. This video includes Lon Smith’s epic 45-second shred. Of course Ryan wasn’t at this CSS (as far as I know he was only at CSS1 and CSS5 I think it was…), but it was still monumental for sure.
Featuring: “Big Add” Chad Devlahovich, Daryl “Genzu Blades” Genz, Kenny “Enforcer” Shults, “Disco Ninja” Tuan Vu, Allan “Talon” Haggett, Sunil “Tsunami” Jani, Jon “Outsider” Schneider, Peter “Executioner” Irish, Richie “Renegade” Abshire, “Shred On” Lon Smith, Eric “Ironman” Wulff, Ahren “The Torch” Gehrman.
On a trivia note: this is the tournament at which I was inducted into the Big Add Posse along with Richie Abshire and Yacine Merzouk. As the video states at the beginning, it also has a bit of footage that was shot at the same time as Tricks of the Trade 2 an instructional footbag video that we sell in the shop.

Part 2 on Youtube
And here’s Part 1 for those who don’t want to make the jump off-site:
Keep up the good work Erik! Thanks

I did some work on mattemmings.com, so Matt made me a new footbag:

It’s not a great quality pic; I just snapped it with the camera in my Mac.
It’s tiny. 3.5 CM == ~ 1.4 “. I dig it; just like I asked for. It’s got pure tungsten footbag filler (haven’t weighed it).
We played with it this afternoon. It was cold and windy and I was generally annoyed, so the session kinda sucked for both of us. I was hitting fury with some consistency and confidence last session, but couldn’t buy one today. The bag was awesome, however. I can’t wait for the weather to get that little bit nicer.

Jorden Moir has a new video up where he demonstrates all the cool tricks he can do using two footbags (at the same time–more or less). Check it out (directly on YouTube):
I’ve got some fun tricks that I can do with two and even three bags, but I suppose I’m not motivated enough just now to make a cool video like Jorden did. Thanks for all that you’re doing to promote footbag Jorden! Keep up the great work.
