In my personal opinion, the magic hop is unavoidable when coming up to more advanced tricks, for those basic stalls in the video it really is not needed, but once you start with tricks like the clipper it is something that you will learn and do whether or not you like. why? try doing 2 clippers in a row, what happens if your first is not a perfect set for the next, are you going to lose form and chase it? no, you do the "magic hop", this not only helps is coshioning but also allows you to reposition yourself as well to land the second clipper, "being essential for successfully linking successive hacky sack tricks"

I think it is important to also note that the purpose of the magic hop is to allow continuation of rhythm/timing/balance and you land from the magic hop as you are catching the bag.

Great video, I am going to send it to my newbs! hehe
